Filly and mom go for a dip
KYALAMI - The Kyalami Neighbourhood Group recently shared a Facebook post by Algoa FM of two horses, a mare and a filly, recently found awkwardly stuck in a pool.
It is unclear how or why the two decided to go swimming on 28 July, however, Algoa FM said the two adventurers were quite a sight to behold. Reportedly, the filly plunged into the water first. Its mother, Rosi, in an act of motherly instinct, followed. The radio station said that the owner, Max Oosthuizen of Adela Stud, said Rosi remained calm throughout.
Fortunately for the two, the stud’s groom entered the icy water to assist in getting the equestrian pair out of the swimming pool. Midrand Reporter could not reach Oosthuizen for comment before the time of publication.
