Patient airlifted from Witkoppen Road

FOURWAYS - A patient was airlifted from the corner of William Nicol Drive and Witkoppen Road on 23 November after a collision involving a bakkie and a truck occurred at the intersection.

According to Emer-G-Med, on arrival paramedics found one passenger in a critical condition.

There were three other occupants of the bakkie that were moderately injured.

A rescue helicopter landed at the intersection to transport a critical patient to a nearby hospital.

There are delays in the area due to both lanes of Witkoppen Road being closed off to allow the airlift to take place and motorists are urged to use an alternate route if possible.
