The Probus Club of the North celebrates new and old members
FOURWAYS – The Probus Club of the North recently issued two of their longest-serving members with honorary life awards for their 20 years of service at the club.
According to Rodney Frances, president of the Probus Council of South Africa, said this was a memorable occasion for the two gentlemen, and came as a total surprise to them, “Virtually no-one besides our club president and I knew about this award,” Frances said.
Past president of the council, Lindsay Balfe, who joined the club in 1995, and past president, John Sampson, who joined in 1990, were both awarded with Lifetime Honorary Membership Certificates.
The club also welcomed one new member, Peter Joffe.
