Overgrown grass and trees on Campbell Road a nightmare for motorists
MAROELADAL – Overgrown trees and grass a hazard for motorists
Despite numerous complaints to the City of Johannesburg about overgrown grass and trees that block road signage on Campbell Road, the residents of Maroeladal Ext 40 have had no response from the city council. There is also a lack of white lines on the road.
Raymond Thurston, a resident in the area, said it was disappointing that the City had not responded to the complaints received. He added that the overgrown grass and trees made it a hazard for motorists, particularly at night.
“[It] is a sore sight for the middle- to high-income group of ratepayers,” he said.
Ward 96 councillor Matome Mafokwane said he had forwarded the matter to the regional director’s office. He confirmed that the matter would be resolved, “Just like in any other areas, residents can rest assured that their concerns will be taken into consideration,” he said.
