Top coach at Wahoo

SUNNGHILL - Sunninghill resident and Wahoo Aquatic Centre coach, Matthew Josephson says his motto is ‘I am, so I can’ as he tries to instil confidence in all his swimmers.

Sunninghill resident Matthew Josephson is a decorated swimmer and is now the swimming coach at Wahoo Aquatic Centre.

Josephson’s swimming achievements include being a competitive swimmer for 13 years and he represented South Africa in three world cup events. He also represented Western Province and Central Gauteng and has competed at eight consecutive South African Senior Nationals.

He has been awarded South African and provincial colours and attended two Masters Swimming Nationals, breaking South African records in both. He now runs annual masters swimming clinics which last for four to five days. The clinics include mental training, nutrition, stroke correction classes, gym sessions and sport science talks, to name a few.

Josephson said his motto is ‘I am, so I can’, as he tries to instil confidence in all his swimmers.

The centre is situated in Sunninghill and caters for all levels of swimming, from beginners to elite swimmers, from triathletes, iron man athletes and masters.
