The newly established Cedar Lakes Girl Guides troop hosted its first public event in early August, and girls throughout the Fourways area are invited to join the group!

The troop, based at the Cedar Lakes complex, was started in April this year and is open to girls aged between five and 19 years old from anywhere in the Fourways area.

“I was a girl guide myself,” explained Pamela Lewis, who founded the troop. “I started [the Cedar Lakes Girl Guides] to empower the girl child.”

“As an empowerment advocate, I strongly believe it is one of the interventions towards helping girls become the best versions of themselves.”
