#ICYMI: Attack on truck driver causes head-on collision

JOBURG – Rock-throwing group causes a truck accident resulting in serious injury.

Two truck drivers were injured yesterday afternoon, 10 January, following a head-on collision just outside Lanseria Airport.

Netcare 911 responded to the accident and Tebogo Magoro, the Netcare 911 marketing and communications officer, who said a group of people had thrown rocks at one of the trucks, smashing its windscreen. There is speculation that in an attempt to avoid the attack, the truck driver collided with another truck.

Netcare 911 paramedics and other services attended to the two drivers.

One driver sustained minor to moderate injuries while the other near-fatal injuries, they were both stabilised and transported to a hospital.

The police and Metro officers and were on the scene investigating.
