Crawford Schools host water collection campaign

As day zero approaches for Cape Town, Crawford Schools are doing their part to make sure that the Western Cape does not go thirsty.
“Crawford Schools, together with Talitha Cumi and Gift of the Givers would like to urge all our staff members, parents and students to donate water,” read a press release published by the organisation.
“The collection of water will happen under the Messages of Hope campaign, where we will be writing or drawing little letters and sticking [them] to the bottled water, just to let the people of Cape Town know that we are thinking of them.”
The collection will supply water to special needs schools, the elderly in old age homes and retirement villages and clinics providing water for mothers to make formula for their babies. The Fourways community is invited to get involved.
The schools are collecting five-litre plastic containers which need to be delivered as follows:
- Store-bought water, which is sealed and ideal for consumption
- All water needs to be sealed, and please ensure that the bottles are not leaking (to avoid contamination)
- Don’t forget to write your message of hope or get the children to draw a picture for the bottle.
The collection will be handed over to Gift of the Givers on 13 February at 11am, so please donate your contribution by Monday, 12 February.
“Gift of the Givers will collect the water and organise the logistics and transportation [of it] to the Western Cape, and ensure that it is distributed to vulnerable people who do not have access to transport.”
