13 arrested for reckless and negligent driving
PAULSHOF – A total of 13 drivers were arrested for reckless and negligent driving by the JMPD on 17 January.
The Johannesburg Metro Police Department have arrested 12 taxi drivers, as well as the driver of a private vehicle, during an operation in Fourways on 17 January.
The arrests were for reckless and negligent driving at the intersection of Wikoppen and Main Roads in Paulshof during a police operation held in the morning. According to a press statement released by Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar, the spokesperson for the metro police department, three of the taxis were also taken in for number plate investigation, because they were unlicensed.

The 13 drivers have been detained at the Douglasdale Police Station and will likely appear in the magistrate’s court during the week of 20 January.
