Community radio station is burgled
DIEPSLOOT – After a community radio station was burgled of thousands of rands worth of equipment, Diepsloot police are appealing for information from the public.
Diepsloot police are looking for help from the public after a recent burglary.
Captain Tinyiko Mathebula of the Diepsloot Police Station said that the police are appealing to the public for information as they investigate a case of business burglary following a break-in at a community radio station in the informal settlement.
He explained that it is alleged that on the night of 19 February, an unknown suspect or suspects broke into the studio and stole equipment estimated to be work R160 800. The stolen items include two studio mixers, a black android tablet, a laptop, two keyboards and a studio broadcast computer.
“We appeal to anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects to please contact Diepsloot police,” Mathebula said.
“We urge members of the community to refrain from buying stolen goods, as this encourages criminals to continue committing this crime. Report perpetrators at your nearest police station and clamp down on the trade of stolen goods.”
