SUNNINGHILL – Three men that Sandton police officers discovered driving a stolen vehicle in Sunninghill have been arrested, according to the station's spokesperson.

Three alleged car thieves were recently arrested by Sandton police as part of crime-fighting efforts, according to Captain Granville Meyer, spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station.

In order to prevent and combat crime that may threaten the safety and security of the community, vigilant police members on patrol arrested three suspects for the possession of a stolen motor vehicle in Sunninghill on 5 March. The trio, from Soweto, were arrested on the corner of Witkoppen and Rivonia roads after police members on patrol randomly tested the vehicle for ownership and found that it had been stolen.

It was positively linked to a theft case that happened earlier on that day at business premises in the area.

The suspects are currently in detention and will appear in court soon on charges relating to the matter.
