Car thieves nabbed after police chase in Sunninghill

SUNNINGHILL – Two men are in police custody after they were discovered to be driving a stolen vehicle in the Sunninghill area on 25 March.

Two men from Soweto have been arrested after leading Sandton police on a car chase in a stolen vehicle.

This is according to a media statement released to Fourways Review by the station. According to the station’s spokesperson, Captain Granville Meyer, the incident occurred on 25 March in the Sunninghill area when officers on patrol spotted the men. In their attempt to evade capture, the suspects led the officers on a chase down Rivonia Road, colliding with several other vehicles before they were apprehended.

The vehicle found in their possession has been linked to theft cases in both the Edenvale and Parkview policing precincts, and the suspects will remain in detention until they appear in court.
