Charity shares kindness with those in need

FOURWAYS – Community members are encouraged to support the initiative that aims to assist people in need.

One Small Act of Kindness charity has assisted 400 families in Cosmo City, Alex, Honeydew and Zandspruit with food, toiletries and clothing.

The charity works as a small foster home and runs various community upliftment programmes in and around Johannesburg.

They were seen handing out donations to people in need in Fourways on 27 April.

Director Kelly-Ann van der Meer explained why they decided to help. “We get around 50 messages per day of people needing help with food and toiletries and we needed to do our part for the community.”

“A lot of people affected have lost their jobs or at least their income for the next month or two. They have no way of feeding their families and their communities without our help.”

Van der Meer said they have received a tremendous response from families, individuals and companies across the city.

“We are always in need of funding and non-perishable food items, blankets, soap, masks and sanitiser,” she added.

If you would like to support their work, contact Kelly-Ann van der Meer on 082 513 2042.
