Crawford Lonehill matrics and Grade 7s to return to school

LONEHILL – Grade 7 and Grade 12 learners at Crawford Lonehill returned to school on 1 June.

Academic director at ADvTech Dr Felicity Coughlan discussed Crawford Lonehill’s decision for matric and Grade 7 learners to return to school on 1 June.

She said that all protocols, regulations and guidelines have been followed at the school.

“From social distancing in and out of classes through to sanitising and screening. We have followed the protocols and have not been tempted to go with gimmicks,” said Coughlan.

“We are sticking with science and behavioural change through developing understanding of why we are doing what we are, so that it makes sense to students and staff to comply. This is the best way to turn these new realities into habits.”

Coughlan said that Grade 12 learners will still write the IEB exams at the scheduled time when other IEB schools do.

She said that the school has a phased plan, based on the guidelines and the school’s assessment of capacity, for the return of learners from other grades.

“Our next groups are scheduled to return next week,” said Coughlan.
