ICYMI: Fourways locals eager to stock up on liquor
FOURWAYS – People excitedly line up outside liquor stores in order to purchase liquor for the first time in over two months.
It’s been more than two months since South Africans were last able to purchase liquor and many have been eagerly anticipating the day it would be allowed again.
As South Africa moves to Level 3 on 1 June, liquor stores have reopened once again. Under Level 3, liquor stores are allowed to operate from Mondays to Thursdays from 9am to 5pm. Liquor bought online will also only be delivered during this period.
The Fourways Review journalist, Sarah Koning is at Makro Riversands to document the action.
