Three suspects appeared in the Alexandra Regional Court on 24 August after Sandton detectives charged them as part of their investigation into an alleged robbery.
Spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station Captain Granville Meyer said, “It is alleged that the suspects robbed a victim of his cell phone in Gallo Manor on 22 August.
“Upon further investigation, it was found that the suspects were linked to other robbery cases that took place in the Sunninghill area.”
He said that good investigation work led to the arrest of the suspects at an informal settlement in the same vicinity where the incident took place.
“We appeal to anyone who may have any information on crime to contact the SAPS on the Crime Stop number 086 001 0111. Information can also be communicated via the MySaps App, an app which can be easily downloaded via Play Store on any iPhone or Android handset.”
Meyer said that all information will be treated with strictest confidence and informers can remain anonymous.
