General worker and driver posts at Joburg Water are fake and a scam

JOBURG – Anyone with information in this regard is hereby advised to contact the City's Tip-Offs Anonymous.

Public warned of fake job scam at the City’s water management entity.

According to a statement released by the City, there is a scammer offering jobseekers the possibility of working as general workers and drivers at Johannesburg Water. The City explained, “The scammer, claiming to be from Johannesburg Water, invites jobseekers to an interview telephonically for general worker and driver positions and will request the jobseekers to pay for the interview.”
The City cautioned the public from falling victim to the scammers and stated that Johannesburg Water currently only invites job applicants to interviews via SMS. They added that the entity will not request to be called back by job applicants, particularly on a mobile phone nor request payment for interviews.

Members of the public are asked to please check authenticity of job offers via the City’s website or by calling them on 011 688 1400. Anyone with information in this regard is hereby advised to contact the City’s Tip-Offs Anonymous on 0800 002 587 immediately.
