Police launch a manhunt following business robbery in Kyalami Corner Shopping Centre

KYALAMI– Mabulane said police have launched a manhunt for the three suspects who used a white VW Polo to flee the scene on 22 April 2020.


Police have opened a docket of business robbery after armed criminals got away with an undisclosed amount of money at Kyalami Corner Shopping Centre.

Midrand Police Station spokesperson, Constable Eliot Mabulane said police have launched a manhunt for three suspects who used a white VW Polo to flee the scene on 22 April.

“It alleged that three suspects came in pretending to be potential customers in one of the shops in Kyalami Corner Shopping Centre.

“When they were all inside the shop, one of the suspects took out a firearm and pointed it at one of the employees and ordered everyone to sit down while other suspects were taking cash.”

He added, “An undisclosed amount of money, a cell phone and passport belonging to one of the employees was taken. It is believed that a white Volkswagen Polo that was used by suspects was used as the getaway car.

Mabulane added that the investigation is currently underway.

A statement issued by Kyalami Corner said shots were fired at the on-site security officers in the parking area, however, no one was injured during the incident.

Mabulane appealed to members of the public with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects to come forward.

“We call on the community to work hand in hand with the police to bring these criminals and others that are terrorising our communities to book.”
