Executive director of Hirsch’s Homestore, Margaret Hirsch together with Heal the World Foundation and the Mrs South Africa Pageant delivered sanitary pads and learning material to the Grade 8 learners at Itirele Zenzele Comprehensive School on 13 May.
The hundreds of sanitary pads were well received by the learners and staff, and donors spent time with some of the learners during the afternoon.
The founder of Heal the World Foundation is Mpho Mogotsi who is also a Mrs South Africa 2021 semi-finalist.
She said, “An initiative like this is something very close to our hearts. We are all for transformation and healing through a variety of programmes that seek to heal social ills, injustice and inequalities that exist in the world.
“Our initiative serves as a platform for children, women and society to transform their mindset and break away from the mould that keeps them entrapped in the cycle of poverty and abuse.
“We aim to raise the consciousness of humanity and create conscious leaders, thriving entrepreneurs and a safe enabling society where all citizens have equal rights and are empowered to live their best lives.”
