Dainfern College receives donation to bursary programme

DAINFERN – The Dainfern College Foundation had a number of items from Huawei donated for learners who are part of the high school bursary programme.

Dainfern College received donations from Huawei for their high school bursary programme on 20 May.

Spokesperson for the school, Ashley van Aswegen said the programme offers bursaries to learners from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.

“The learners are funded by Dainfern College in partnership with the Dainfern College Foundation which covers their tuition, textbooks, school uniforms, devices, food and other sundry items like camps and the matric dance,” she explained.

The foundation approached Huawei for additional assistance with the bursary programme in which a number of electric items were handed over by their representative, Vito Chen.

Van Aswegen said the school is extremely grateful for the donation. “The items that were donated include Huawei mobile cell phones, laptops, data packages and a contribution to the daily meal programme,” she said.

“These essential communication tools will make a significant difference in the lives of these students.”
