The Bridge Assisted Learning School learners and teachers donate blankets to children in need
FOURWAYS– Tibbit said children at Starfish Place of Safety which fosters and cares for vulnerable children in South Africa were in desperate need of food and blankets.
A local businesswoman and community activist Jaci Tibbit has embarked on a mission to collect food and blanket donations for children sheltered at the Starfish Place of Safety.
Tibbit appealed to members of the public to donate blankets and canned food that will be delivered at the facility on a date that is yet to be decided.
“This initiative was triggered by the condition and a great need we saw during our recent visit to the Starfish Place of Safety,” she said.
“As part of my birthday celebration, I visited the facility and brought hamburgers, cooldrinks, books and clothes to celebrate with them. We realised that children had not enough blankets as we go through the cold season. I then decided to embark on this initiative to get them more blankets.”
Tibbit added that she was very grateful and thankful to parents and learners at The Bridge Assisted Learning School who recently donated blankets to keep children warm at Starfish Place of Safety.
“I would like to thank the amazing teachers, parents and children from The Bridge Assisted Learning School for their generous donations of blankets and clothing to keep our precious children warm this winter at Starfish Place of Safety which fosters and cares for vulnerable children in SA. We are in desperate need of food supplies for the facility. Any tins of food, cereals, mealie-pap, oats, rice and other non-perishable food will be greatly appreciated.”
