Former editor of Fourways Review and Midrand Reporter, Laura Pisanello writes:

After four wonderful years at Caxton Joburg North, two of those years as the editor of Midrand Reporter and Fourways Review, I will be moving on to explore new opportunities.

I started my career at Caxton fresh out of university and I’m incredibly grateful for all that I have learned in my time here. In my years as a journalist, I was able to cover some incredible stories and I will cherish those memories. I believe that these lessons that I learned as a journalist helped me guide a team of journalists when I became an editor.

As a news editor, I had the privilege of overseeing wonderful, dedicated journalists who are committed to providing important local news. I am confident that this talented team will continue to grow from strength to strength long after I have left.

There is also a brilliant new editor who will be taking my place. Phathu Luvhengo has a long history with Caxton and I am confident that he will flourish in the role.

I am also grateful to the Fourways and Midrand communities that trust us to report their stories each week. The positive feedback and thank-you’s make all the hard work worth it.

I wish you all a happy, healthy year.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
