Police investigating Magaliessig house robbery

MAGALIESSIG – Two victims were tended to by Emer-G-Med and police are still investigating the incident.


Police have opened a case of house robbery and attempted murder after a homeowner was shot during a house robbery in Magaliessig on October 6.

Emer-G-Med responded to the incident at about 10:30. Medic, Caitlin Kruger said an unknown number of robbers allegedly entered the property, then proceeded to tie up the children and domestic worker.
“The mom arrived home and the robbers opened fire on her and shot her in the arm. The robbers then jumped a wall and hit an elderly female on the head with a gun and [drove] off in her car.

“The patient with the gunshot wound was transported to hospital by Emer-G-Med under the care of an emergency care practitioner. The elderly woman was transported privately to hospital,” added Kruger.
Douglasdale police spokesperson, Captain Mpho Tshetlhane confirmed the incident and that a case of house robbery and attempted murder had been opened at the station.

“No one has been arrested yet and police investigations are continuing.
“We appeal to anyone with information that might assist police investigation to contact Douglasdale police on 011 699 1300/1333 or 086 001 0111. Alternatively use the MySAPS app to provide tip-offs anonymously,” she said.
