Residents association hopes for improvement of service delivery in Lonehill area
LONEHILL– Residents association hopes that the new councillor will priorities infrastructure upgrades in the Lonehill area.
Lonehill Residents Association (LRA) has welcomed newly elected Ward 93 councillor Vino Reddy after the area has been without a councillor for almost three months.
Reddy, along with other new councillors in the City of Johannesburg were sworn in at the municipal inauguration event held at Brixton Multipurpose Centre on November 22.
Marketing manager at LRA Shelley Miller said they hope that the new councillor will priorities infrastructure upgrades in the Lonehill area.

“We welcome Vino to our community and look forward to a healthy beneficial partnership for the residents of Lonehill. We would like to see an increase in by-law management and infrastructural upgrades on Dennis Road,
“Residents have been plagued by contractors and developers at a new development in Dennis Road who have not adhered to the by-laws and caused inconvenience to residents ever since the project started. It has been hell for these residents. Dennis Road is damaged, the stormwater drainage is incomplete and street lights are not working.”
Miller added that communication and a proactive approach will be key in tackling service delivery issues in the area.
“The residents need to be kept updated with service delivery issues, particularly now as they have not had a councillor for some months. Community engagement meetings would be appreciated by the residents. The Lonehill Residents Association is also looking forward to working closely with the new councillor so that we can keep our residents informed on municipal issues.”
