In his 2021 festive message to residents and community members, Sandton Police Station Commander, Brigadier Egen Moodley writes:
In the spirit of the season, I pay tribute to the dedicated police officials at Sandton SAPS, from other SAPS specialised units and other law enforcement agencies that braved Covid and often risked their lives to apprehend dangerous criminals. I also pay tribute to those fallen police and security officials who made the ultimate sacrifice.
I wish to thank our partners of the Sandton Community Police Forum, community patrollers, sector crime forums, JMPD, security companies, residents’ associations, emergency services, business, NGOs, religious organisations and other government entities for their dedication and commitment. I pray that the Lord will embrace all of you with protection and keep you safe as you render your duties during the festive season.
Sandton SAPS will always have an open door policy, especially during this time of the year, to report any suspicious or criminal activity happening in our policing precinct. Our daily crime intelligence-driven integrated operations will continue as planned with additional deployment in the hotspot areas and will focus on priority crimes such as gender-based violence, car hijacking, house robbery, business robbery, street robbery and burglaries.
