Judy Ranoto Foundation participate in a walk to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder
The founder of the organisation said there was a great need to raise awareness about autism spectrum disorder in South Africa.

A Fourways-based non-profit organisation participated in the autism walk hosted by Mohato School for Autism in Soweto to commemorate autism month.
Philanthropist and founder of Judy Ranoto Foundation, Judith Ranoto said the organisation’s role in the event on April 8 was to support parents of children living with autism, provide counselling and create awareness about autism spectrum disorder.
“The autism awareness walk event was hosted by Mohato School of Autism. The month of April is World Autism Awareness Month. We went there as a support structure as we have now formed a relationship with the school to support them,” Ranoto said.

She added that there was a great need to raise awareness about this in South Africa. “Many people have little or no knowledge about this disorder. We have took it upon ourselves as an organisation to create awareness, help parents and their children living with this kind of disorder. We are looking forward to having more collaboration where we create awareness and acceptance for autistic children.”
She said the foundation also identifies parents who need assistance with various challenges, like vitamin supplements, clothing and equipment to give support to those living with the disorder.
