Residents of Beverley embark on a mission to patch notorious potholes in the streets of the neighbourhood
Ward 94 councillor said some of these potholes have been giving motorists terrible driving experience for a long time while others mushroomed recently following heavy rains.
Ward 94 councillor David Foley and residents of Beverley have embarked on an initiative to patch notorious potholes in the neighbourhoods from their own pockets.
Foley said some of these potholes have been giving motorists terrible driving experience for a long time while others mushroomed recently following heavy rains.
“Because of JRA delays to repair potholes through the initiative of the MMC of Transport to use all depots to catch up with the backlog across all regions in the City of Joburg, I took the initiative to ask the various complexes in the suburb of Beverley to donate money to buy tar. Residents responded immediately by depositing money into the LRA bank account.”
He said with the help of LRA team that has experience in road maintenance, potholes in a number of streets were successfully fixed.
“The LRA team continues to work around the clock to fill all remaining potholes in the neighbourhood. This initiative will help motorist drive freely and ensure that vehicles are not damaged going forward.”
Foley thanked residents of Beverley for all their contributions to ensure that their roads were fixed.
