VOX POP: Does the recent a shooting and business robbery incident deter you from attending a local shopping centre?

Following the shooting and business robbery that took place at Fourways Crossing, community members weighed in with their thoughts about the incident.

On October 23, a store at Fourways Crossing was victim to a business robbery where eight men entered the store and stole camera equipment and stock.

While there were no injuries or damage to property, police investigations are continuing, and anyone who has any information that can assist the investigation is encouraged to report it to Douglasdale police.

The Fourways Review asked the community if the incident has impacted whether or not they will still go to the shopping centre.

JAYDEE SHAIK: I heard the entire story from my dad, and we generally come here because of convenience. It’s not as busy as other malls. He was more worried and cautious, but it really doesn’t faze me. I’ll continue coming here because of convenience.
NEREECE PARASURAMAN: I do think the incident is a safety concern because it seems like a place families would come for shopping. People should be more cautious because of what happened. Because there were no casualties, I don’t think I would not come here, but I would be more cautious now that I know.
