Fourways dancer to represent South Africa at International Dance Organisation World Championships in Austria
Fourways dancer hopes to bring home a medal from International Dance Organisation World Championships in Austria.
Fourways-based dancer Kajol Naidoo will represent South Africa at the International Dance Organisation World Championship for Hip Hop Street Dance in Graz, Austria from October 26 to 31 October.
At a ceremony, Kajol recently received her Protea colours from the Federation of Dance Sport and Sascoc.
“I have always danced around the house and love listening to music. I started dancing about two years ago at Ministry of Dance in Bromhof with coach Michaela De Oliveira Lopes who has supported me in the qualifying tournaments and my regular practice sessions,” Kajol said.
The Grade 5 learner at Radford House added, “I always try by all means to balance my academic work with a host of extra murals, including athletics, swimming, chess and dance, taking the bulk of weekends in travels related to respective competitions and qualifying events.”
Kajol said she hoped to bring home medals from the championships.
