Douglasdale Business and Residents Forum wishes locals a prosperous 2023

DBRF chairperson said residents of Douglasdale are a symbol of perseverance, generosity, hope, and islands of beauty that have persisted since 2008 in the face of urban decay.

The chairperson of Douglasdale Business and Residents Forum (DBRF) has urged local residents and the business community to continue working together to make 2023 a successful year.

She said the residents of Douglasdale are a symbol of perseverance, generosity, hope, and islands of beauty that have persisted since 2008 in the face of urban decay.

“I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our members, residents, and business community a happy and prosperous new year in 2023. I think our verge gardens at the intersection of Douglas Drive and Leslie Avenue West in Douglasdale are a testament to perseverance; to the pushing through and the keeping on.”

“Our community is a symbol of perseverance, generosity, and hope, islands of beauty that have persisted since 2008 in the face of urban decay and upheavals by various individuals time and time again through its many infrastructure projects, which do not include reinstatement and restoration.”

She added, “We are grateful that, with the help of many generous and caring community members, we have been able to keep them going for 15 years. The gardens have not only made the area prettier and cleaner, but they have also mitigated littering and illegal dumping, and prevented illegal parking on those pavements, all of which bring corruption of infrastructure and neighbourhood.”
