In a heartwarming celebration, the Daily Bread Organisation expressed deep gratitude and admiration for the exceptional service of James De Wit at Fourways High School. De Wit, a dedicated individual, has been an invaluable member of the organisation since 2009, contributing significantly to its mission of providing support and assistance to those in need.

One of De Wit’s significant contributions to the Daily Bread Organisation has been his involvement in theatre productions. He generously offered his time and effort to transport children to various theatre performances, allowing them to experience the magic of the arts firsthand. De Wit’s commitment to enriching the lives of these children through cultural experiences has left an indelible impact on both the organisation and the young participants.

Furthermore, De Wit’s played a pivotal role in establishing a volunteer service programme between Fourways High and the Daily Bread Organisation. Through this initiative, learners from the school were encouraged to actively participate in community service. They did this by helping to deliver fresh food parcels to those facing food insecurity. De Wit’s dedication and passion for fostering a spirit of giving and compassion among the learners has been instrumental in the success of this programme.

“I feel very honoured and grateful for the recognition, however, it is definitely not the reason why I do it. I get involved purely because there are so many unfortunate people in the community and I am more than happy to share some of my extras with them,” said De Wit.
