Learners get creative during school’s arts festival

Crawford International learners took part in a school arts festival that saw them winning big.

When Marcelle Pincus and Michelle Omsky took a sit down and talked about how to instil a lifelong love for the arts, the Crawford Academy Festival was the ultimate answer. It became a success. But after some time, the name was changed to the Creative Arts Festival.

During the festival, learners take part in drama performances, public speaking, dance and music genres. This year was no different, and 23 young musicians from Crawford International Lonehill took part in this festival.

The learners did not at all disappoint and made the school extremely proud by bringing home 18 prestige awards after scoring 95 % and above, 12 honours of which they received 90 to 94% in their results. And for the cherry on top, they even received three gold certificates.

Heidi Lenz of the school’s music department beams with a lot of pride as she details what this means for them as the school, “We are extremely proud of our music students. Special mention must be made of three of our Grade 1 learners who already took part in this festival in their first year of formal lessons,” she said.
