Flooding hotspots in Fourways identified by the JRA
A number of roads in Fourways have been highlighted as flooding hotspots by the JRA who have cautioned motorists to drive with care during heavy rains.
With the rainy season in full swing, flooding across the city is a major concern. The Johannesburg Roads Agency has provided hotspots for areas susceptible to flooding, with several of these being in the greater Fourways area.
Sunninghill, Lonehill, Diepsloot and Kyalami Estates are among the areas named as problematic during heavy rains, by the entity.
The full list of affected roads is below:
JRA works closely with emergency services and other city entities, including Public Safety, Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD), Emergency Management Services (EMS) and Disaster Management, Johannesburg Water, Joburg City Parks and Zoo (JCPZ), and Environmental Infrastructure Services Department (EISD).
JRA urges the public to:
- Drive cautiously and avoid flooded areas.
- Report any road damage or blockages immediately.
- Stay informed about weather warnings and advisories.
- Regional standby teams are constantly monitoring and responding to any flooding emergencies, and the public is encouraged to contact the depot closest to them:
