The learners were given a platform to showcase their individual talents and the audience was thrilled to see such a display of creativity.

Mbatha said, “As an institution that is deeply rooted in arts and culture, this event served as a heartfelt reminder of the invaluable role that music plays in our educational offering. Our vocalists took the centre stage with confidence and the marimba band stole the show sweeping the audience off their feet with their mesmerizing melodies and infectious rhythms.”

She added that the event was not just about showcasing the musical prowess of the learners but was also a celebration of the multifaceted talents that the learners possess beyond the realm of academics.

During the school event, students from Grades 3-7 showcased their talents in music and dance. The performance featured a song, which the learners sang and danced to while displaying their unique dance moves.

Meanwhile, students from Grades 4-7 played the marimba instruments, adding a melodious beat to their performance. In the first half of the show, the students played music from the pop genre, which included popular songs from around the world.

In the second half, they switched to the local South African hits, which brought a sense of pride and joy to the audience. Mbatha said it took the learners a lot of weeks and time to prepare for the concert. Every single learner from Grades 3-7 was encouraged to take part in the event.
