Association seeks support for change
Lonehill Residents Association encourages residents to support their community improvement initiative.

Alleged criminals in the Lonehill area have recently provided yet another reason for residents to rally behind the Lonehill Community Improvement Initiative led by the Lonehill Residents Association, a non-profit community organisation.
The perpetrators brazenly stole a fence in the Lonehill neighborhood, highlighting the ongoing need for community support and vigilance in supporting the association’s mission and vision.

The perimeter fencing, measuring approximately 54m in length, was stolen from the open land located at the intersection of Witkoppen and Main roads, opposite the Clay Oven informal settlement, according to Nadeem Abrahams, the environment manager of the association who expressed his concerns.
He said the fence was discovered by a Fidelity reaction officer who was patrolling the property in the afternoon on May 13.
“We have since learned that on the same night, fencing was stolen from a vehicle dealer on Uranium Road and behind Cedar Square in Fourways. We immediately dispatched a Fidelity officer to guard the property and our Green Team was seen replacing the stolen fencing within hours in the afternoon.
“This is the role that the we play as an organisation in our community; this is where your contributions as residents are allocated.”

He said the funds for the improvement initiative are used to protect and improve the security in the community, and to maintain and also improve the environment.
He mentioned that in addition to their current efforts, they are also committed to enhancing the recreational facilities and safeguarding their investment in enhancing the quality of life for the residents of Lonehill.

When reached out for comment, Charnel Hattingh, the group marketing and communications of Fidelity Services Group, said she will revert with more information, however, none had been forthcoming by the time of going to print.
