Crawford Lonehill eSports team competes in Minecraft Gamer Festival
The tournament brought together ten schools from Johannesburg and beyond, giving students a chance to dive into the rapidly growing world of eSports in education.
Over the weekend, the eSports team from Crawford International Lonehill Preparatory had the exciting opportunity to take part in the Minecraft Gamer Festival.
This prestigious tournament attracted ten schools not only from Johannesburg but also from other regions which provided the students a platform to immerse themselves in the dynamic and expanding realm of eSports within the education sector.

The gaming competition was incredibly intense, with teams from all walks of life getting a chance to display their exceptional gaming skills and strategic prowess in an electrifying and high-energy atmosphere.
Despite the tough challenges presented by the competition, the Crawford International Lonehill eSports team showcased an outstanding level of teamwork, collaboration, and adaptability that set them apart from the rest.
Their resilience and exceptional performance throughout the tournament truly demonstrated their commitment and skill in the world of competitive gaming.

Louise Clarke-Mathers, the school’s client experience officer said, “although our team didn’t secure a victory this time, their outstanding effort and sportsmanship did not go unnoticed. The experience has fueled their motivation, and they are already setting their sights on the next event, where they aim to claim the top spot.”
She added that they would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the team for proudly representing Crawford International Lonehill.
