The AA has announced the appointment of Bobby Ramagwede as its new CEO, effective from October 1. With nearly two decades of professional experience at CEO and board levels, Ramagwede is set to lead the AA into its next era of growth and innovation.

An MBA graduate from the University of Pretoria’s Gordon Institute of Business, Ramagwede brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. He previously served as the CEO of Europ Assistance South Africa, where he was instrumental in promoting a customer-centric culture and optimising operational activities across the company’s South African operations.
Before completing his MBA, Ramagwede achieved a BCom in Economics and Statistics, followed by a BCom Honours in Economics from the University of Pretoria. His extensive career also includes serving on the boards of Life Healthcare and various state hospitals, demonstrating his strong leadership capabilities.
Ramagwede’s impressive skill set includes business strategy, executive leadership, governance, and business development. His appointment marks a significant milestone for the AA, a respected entity in the South African mobility landscape, now entering its 94th year.
