Unathi Bonga said recognising National Children's Day was very important in their school's community. Whether it was National Children's Day or Grandparent's Day, each campus celebrated the importance of the community in the well-being of children in their own way.

“This is a day dedicated to highlighting the promotion of children’s rights. It’s a moment for the nation to reflect on our collective responsibility to ensure that every child develops to their fullest potential – free from hunger, disease, neglect, and abuse,” said Unathi Bonga, the school’s public relations consultant.

She said, this day serves as a clarion call for all members of society to prioritise the well-being of our youngest citizens, creating a nurturing environment where they can thrive.

“We wish all Crawfordians a day of honour and joy. We hold a deep belief in the agency and capability of our students.

“National Children’s Day is a day that speaks to the very core of our philosophy: Empowering young minds to grow, learn, and achieve their full potential. We are committed to creating a safe and enriching space, where our students can flourish and become the leaders of tomorrow. We extend our heartfelt wishes to all Crawford families, celebrating the strength, creativity, and promise of our children.”

She said, at some of their campuses, they celebrated the day with a special assembly. While others chose to do their October Grandparents Day celebrations.

Both events are meaningful opportunities to highlight the importance of community and the role it plays in creating growth, safety, and mutual respect.

“Through Grandparents Day, we celebrated the value of intergenerational connection and support, aligning closely with the spirit of National Children’s Day, which calls on us to uphold the well-being and potential of every child. Together, these occasions reinforce our commitment to nurturing an inclusive, respectful, and empowering school environment for all.”
