The Society for Animals in Distress Said it, meant it, and did it again in 2024

Despite facing financial challenges, Said is committed to continuing its vital work in 2025, aiming to secure essential funding and reach more animals and people in need.

As the calendar flips to a new year, the Society for Animals in Distress (Said) takes a moment to reflect on the triumphs of 2024, and cast a vision towards the exciting possibilities that 2025 holds.

With a legacy of compassion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of animals and their owners, Said has solidified its position as a leading force in animal welfare.

“Among our greatest successes in 2024 was the introduction of our mobile veterinary clinic trailer. This vital addition has transformed how we deliver veterinary care, allowing us to save time, reduce transportation barriers, and bring life saving veterinary services directly to the heart of the communities we serve,” said Keshvi Nair, a fundraising manager at the organisation.

“Our events also shone brightly this year, with the annual Golf Day and Christmas Market becoming platforms for animal lovers to come together, celebrate, and contribute to our mission.

“These gatherings not only raised much needed funds but also showcased the generosity and compassion of those who believe in the work we do. Most importantly, we celebrate every single life we’ve touched – thousands of animals, from horses to dogs, cats, and more. Each life saved and improved is a victory we hold dear.”

Looking forward to 2025, Nair said they are faced with the reality of operating at a deficit, a challenge inherent in their work as a non-profit organisation dedicated to assisting those who cannot afford veterinary care.

“However, our resolve is stronger than ever. We aim to secure essential funding, reach even more animals and people, and continue to be a formidable force for veterinary care in communities that need it most. Together, with your support, we will overcome challenges and create a brighter future for all creatures great and small.”
