A night under the stars awaits at Lonehill Koppie

Lonehill Residenst Association invites dads and kids for a magical evening of bonding, adventure, and fun as fathers and their children camp at the stunning Lonehill Koppie.

The Lonehill Residents Association invites families to join in the fun at this year’s 16th Annual Dads and Kids Campout, set against the stunning backdrop of Lonehill Koppie, from March 15-16.

The event, originally the idea of the association’s estate, has evolved from a modest gathering of a few fathers and their children on the banks of the Jukskei River into a highly anticipated annual affair, attracting families from across the region.

“Dads looking to earn some serious bonding points with their kids, both boys and girls are invited to join this memorable camping experience. The event promises a night filled with laughter, activities, and cherished memories,” said Shelly Miller, the association’s spokesperson.

Family time is a fun time at Lonehill Koppie.

This year, the campout has room for 120 children and 80 dads.

“Campers should plan to arrive in the afternoon on Saturday, March 15, and depart following breakfast on Sunday, March 16. The event’s pricing is set at R120 for dads and R140 per child.”

Attendees can look forward to an array of fun activities and hearty meals. Kids will receive goody bags courtesy of Pam Golding Properties, while dads can indulge in biltong, hot dogs, and boerewors rolls for dinner.

Sweet treats such as marshmallows for roasting, and hot chocolate, juice, tea, and rusks, will ensure everyone is well-fed.

“A special thanks is extended to Danie and his team at Country Meat in the Lonehill Shopping Centre, who have generously supported the campout’s catering for the past decade.”

Miller added dads and kids could expect a lot of engaging activities, including arts and crafts, volleyball, hiking, and the classic campfire experience complete with toasted marshmallows. Vendors will also be on-site, offering mini doughnuts and bubble tea on Saturday afternoon.

Dads and their children had fun at the Dads and Kids Campout last year.

The association assured the residents that ‘there is no Wi-Fi at the Koppie, but you will never find better connections’.
