Buzzing with excitement, Curro Chartwell and Fourways preschoolers celebrated World Bee Day with colourful costumes, fun activities, and sweet lessons about the vital role of bees.

Curro Chartwell and Fourways preschoolers enjoyed a hive of activity as they celebrated World Bee Day with vibrant costumes, engaging stories, and interactive activities.

Dressed in cheerful yellow and black outfits, complete with wings and antennae, the young learners immersed themselves in the buzzing world of bees, transforming their classroom into a hive of excitement and discovery.

The event was not only a delightful celebration but also an educational opportunity, emphasising the vital role bees play in our environment. Busi Zibi, the marketing officer for both schools, shared enthusiasm about the initiative.

“Our goal is to foster curiosity and awareness from an early age,” she said. “Through these fun activities, children learn about pollination, the importance of bees in growing our food, and why we need to protect these incredible pollinators.”

Using age-appropriate stories, songs, and hands-on activities, the children gained a deeper understanding of how bees contribute to biodiversity and food security. The day sparked lively conversations among the young learners, helping them connect their classroom experiences to the wider world.
