According to Ward 94 councillor David Foley, the park had challenges with the gate as its hinges were falling off and not making it safe for the little dogs.
“That has been repaired now, and it is all thanks to John and a big thanks to John Giannopoulos from Meshtech, who’s got his team out here.”
Foley said they plan to put some netting at the bottom of the new gate so that the little dogs can’t escape, and also for safety reasons.
“But also, what we’re doing and most importantly is the animals that want to traverse here at night, we’re going to put little flaps in there so that they have a pathway to travel from one green area to the other.
“We will also be installing some pedestrian gates next to the big gate, so it’s going to be a lot easier to access.”
