Cavaliere Equine Centre reflects on a year of growth, grit, and memories

From championship wins to heartfelt community moments, Cavaliere Equine Centre looks back on an unforgettable 2025 and sends warm festive wishes to all.

As the year draws to a close, Cavaliere Equine Centre extends heartfelt thanks and warmest wishes to all its riders, families, and community friends.
“May your holidays be filled with joy, peace, and the magic of the season, and may the new year bring fresh adventures, happy trails, and plenty of time spent in the saddle,” said yard owner and coach Claudia Graunke.

Reflecting on 2025, it’s clear this has been a year to remember. Cavaliere riders have shone in every arena, growing in confidence, skill, and connection with their horses.

Among the many highlights, Kendra Reid and her horse Magic achieved an impressive third place in their first-ever graded show before joining the Gauteng Junior 80cm showjumping team. At the same time, Graunke and her horse Caleda took second place in their championship class at the Toyota Easter Festival.

The team’s success didn’t stop there. Caitlyn Pledger and her horse Axl impressed with multiple first-place finishes and a standout performance at the Sanesa National Championships, earning them regional full colours. Congratulations also go to Izabella Hallowes and her horse Chiara for their regional half-colours, and to Sarah Daies and her horse Arnold for completing their first-ever graded 90cm class with style and determination.

Beyond the ribbons and results, 2025 was filled with moments that captured the spirit of Cavaliere, from young horses confidently stepping into their first shows to laughter and teamwork at fun training events. The yard also came together for a festive Christmas in July spit braai fundraiser and, of course, the annual (and much-loved) stable cleaning day.

“Watching our riders and horses grow this year has been incredibly rewarding. Their dedication and love for the sport remind me every day why we do what we do. I couldn’t be prouder of how far everyone has come.”

After a brief break to recover from shoulder surgery, Graunke is happily back in the saddle, leading her team into another year of adventure and achievement.

From the Cavaliere horses and team to the entire community: happy holidays, and here’s to another fantastic year ahead.
