Natasha Academy of Dancing shines on the world stages

From Protea colours to international choreography awards, the Natasha Academy of Dancing closes 2025 with unforgettable achievements and prepares to take its dancers to the world stage in Miami next year.

Natasha Academy of Dancing (NAD) looks back on a year filled with remarkable achievements, personal milestones, and the continued growth of its vibrant dance family. What began as a busy calendar quickly unfolded into one of the most rewarding years yet for the beloved Fourways-based studio.

Studio owner and founder Natasha Ehlers shared her heartfelt reflections as the festive season approaches. “It’s hard to believe it, but we are nearing the end of yet another wonderful year. It was a busy yet extremely successful year for NAD. What a blessing it is for us to share our love and passion for dance with so many.”

This year, Ehlers noted, was not without challenges, both within the dance world and in wider society. “This year has been difficult for many, and its challenges have reminded us of the strength, compassion, and resilience that hold our communities together. As we close this chapter, may the days ahead bring you peace, hope, and moments of genuine happiness.”

NAD’s proudest achievement of 2025 was the moment three of its dancers earned their South African International Protea Colours in dance sport, the highest honour a dancer can receive. This remarkable trio then represented South Africa at the IDO World Championships in Italy, marking a historic first for the studio.

Ehlers also celebrated personal success as a choreographer. “It has always been my dream to receive a choreography award. This dream came true when I was awarded a Diamond Choreography Award at the American Dance Awards SA Regional competition. It has meant so much to me to be recognised by international judges.”

She went on to earn two more choreography awards at the Stage Quest Dance Festival, further cementing NAD’s reputation for excellence and creative artistry.

One of the most exciting announcements is that NAD will be sending a team to the American Dance Awards 2026 National Championships in Miami, USA.
“This has been a huge milestone I have worked toward since opening the academy in 2018. I am so excited that this is finally happening, and we look forward to sharing more of this with the public.”

Ehlers extended warm wishes to the community: “May peace be in your homes, light in your hearts, and optimism in every step forward.”
