Hirsch’s Fourways donates valuable items to children’s home
The children’s smiles and heartfelt thank-you cards highlighted the impact of this small act of kindness, made even more meaningful with support from suppliers like De’Longhi.
In these challenging times, many families, and especially children, face difficult circumstances.
The team at Hirsch’s Fourways believes it’s their responsibility to make a meaningful difference wherever they can. That’s why Michelle Paine, public relations officer, visited Gift a Child Children’s Home through the Hirsch’s Home Store Foundation, a local organisation dedicated to supporting children in need

During her visit with her team, she met with the chairperson, dedicated caregivers, and the beautiful children they support. Surrounded by bright smiles, with the youngest child gently falling asleep in her arms, she and the team were given a heartfelt tour of the facility.
She carefully assessed the children’s most urgent needs and discovered that two essential items could significantly improve their daily lives: a fridge to keep food fresh for longer, and an air fryer to prepare quick, nutritious meals while saving on electricity and gas. “These caregivers are doing an incredible job supporting these wonderful children, the youngest being just two months old. They truly needed our help, and we were determined to provide it.”
On the day of the delivery, Paine was met with joy and gratitude. “The children’s bright smiles were unforgettable. It was a reminder that a small act of kindness can have a profound impact. Life is not measured by what we have, but by what we give to those who have less.”
Paine also acknowledges the support of its valued suppliers, such as De’Longhi, whose willingness to get involved helped extend the initiative’s reach and raise further awareness. “Their support made this initiative even more special. The heartfelt thank-you cards received from the children touched us deeply and reminded us why we do what we do.”
Larnell Mann, chairperson and co-founder of the children’s foundation, said: “We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the Hirsch’s Homestore Foundation for their generous donation of a fridge and an air fryer oven to our home.

“We specifically wish to acknowledge Alan Hirsch, Norman John Brassell, Michelle Paine, Luci Hirsch, and the entire Hirsch’s family for their compassion and unwavering commitment to community upliftment.
“This donation has had an immediate and meaningful impact on our children. The new fridge ensures that food can be stored safely and hygienically, allowing us to preserve fresh produce and prepared meals for longer periods. For a children’s home caring for 14 vulnerable children, this is not simply an appliance; it is security, dignity, and stability.”
He said the air fryer has also transformed the way they prepare meals. “It enables us to cook healthier food more efficiently while reducing electricity consumption. More importantly, it has brought joy and excitement into our kitchen, creating moments of warmth and togetherness for our children.”
