Sandton Community Policing Forum gears up ahead of June 30
With ongoing speculation and public debate circulating about the reported deadline linked to undocumented immigrants allegedly being expected to leave the country, the Sandton Community Policing Forum has stepped in to address growing community concern.
The Sandton Community Policing Forum (CPF) has issued a reassurance notice to residents and businesses on June 23, regarding preparedness measures ahead of the widely discussed June 30 events.
The date, according to reports, serves as the deadline for undocumented foreigners to vacate the country. The policing forum confirmed that extensive co-ordination has been taking place with relevant stakeholders. “Over the past several weeks, we have been working closely with Sandton SAPS, private security companies, emergency services, community structures, and other stakeholders to ensure that appropriate preparedness measures are in place.”
According to the Sandton CPF, these efforts form part of broader co-ordination occurring at local, provincial, and national levels. “Numerous organisations are working together to maintain public safety, respond to incidents where necessary, and minimise disruption to communities.”

The CPF encourages calm within the community. “At this stage, there is no reason for panic. Residents are encouraged to remain informed, continue with their normal daily activities, and rely on information from official and verified sources.
“The community also has an important role to play. Accurate and timely information assists responders in verifying incidents, deploying resources effectively, and keeping the public informed. Residents are encouraged to report suspicious activity and share information responsibly.”
The Sandton CPF is cautioning residents against misinformation. The community is urged not to circulate rumours, hearsay, or unverified information, particularly on social media platforms and community groups. “Where incidents are reported, images and videos that clearly indicate the date, time, and location can greatly assist responders in assessing and verifying information.”
The CPF added that communication updates will continue through official channels. “To support effective communication, we will provide updates through our official WhatsApp channel, and will continue to work closely with the Gauteng Provincial JOC Alerts team, to ensure relevant information reaches the wider community.
