The Whispering Hope Music Academy offers harmony and hope to musical learners in Diepsloot
Promising to uplift the community and beyond through music and faith, the Whispering Hope Music Academy officially opened its doors in Diepsloot with musical performances by its students and speeches by dignitaries.
The Whispering Hope Music Academy officially opened its doors in Diepsloot, marking a significant milestone for both the local community and the Apostolic Faith Mission of Africa (AFMA).
The event was attended by a delegation from as far away as Zimbabwe, including the chancellor of the academy, Reverend Rosewell Zulu, who also serves as the overseer and president of the AFMA internationally, alongside his wife, Pasowene Zulu.

Darlington Mushongera, the director of Whispering Hope Music Academy, expressed the institution’s mission during the launch. “This launch celebrates our journey and our dedication to uplifting the Diepsloot community and beyond through music and faith.
“Since our founding in 2021, Whispering Hope Music Academy has empowered both young and elderly community members, fostered social cohesion, and provided music education as a tool for community upliftment. We believe that our music academy has positively impacted many lives, and we look forward to sharing this vision with you.”
The launch day was filled with vibrant highlights, including live musical performances by the academy’s talented students and the handover of certificates marking their achievements. The occasion was further enhanced by the presence of dignitaries from academia and government, including officials from the Gauteng Department of Arts and Culture and the Department of Health and Wellness.

Among the speakers was Pedzisai Ndagurwa, from the University of Witwatersrand, who commended the AFMA’s music initiative. He spoke passionately about the transformative power of music within society, underscoring its potential to inspire and uplift communities.

Nicolette Tshilidzi Nthangeni, representing the Department of Health and Wellness, expressed her enthusiasm for supporting the initiative. “We will commit to building a stronger, more unified Gauteng through faith and community empowerment.”

Academy students also took to the stage, sharing heartfelt remarks about their experiences at the school. Many expressed sincere gratitude for the opportunities that have allowed them to learn and grow both musically and personally, underscoring the impact of the academy on their lives.
The launch of Whispering Hope Music Academy not only marks the beginning of a promising institution but also enhances the cultural fabric of Diepsloot, fostering growth and unity through the shared language of music.
