Local football stars shine at Transition Football’s Annual Awards
Transition Football and Pinnacle College Kyalami celebrate success at Annual Awards Day as young footballers take centre stage.
Transition Football and Pinnacle College Kyalami came together to celebrate their annual End of Year Function Awards, marking a successful season for the talented young athletes.
The event showcased a series of games, including the much-anticipated Famous Parents and Coaches Game, and provided an opportunity to honour the achievements of every player throughout the year.
This season has been particularly fruitful, with two players securing spots at Mamelodi Sundowns and another pair joining Amatuks. Additionally, one player will be heading to TS Galaxy, while two others have received opportunities at MLS Next Club’s IMG Academy, and Shattuck-St Mary’s in the United States.

Transition Football’s collaboration with Pinnacle College Kyalami aims to nurture exceptional football talent and foster academic excellence. “We pride ourselves on developing well-rounded individuals,” said Transition Football coach Claudio Lorenzani.
“This year, three of our boys have earned football scholarships to universities in America. It’s a testament to their hard work both on and off the field.”
A standout moment of the day was the recognition of Arnold Kakande, a talented boarding learner from Uganda, who was awarded Player of the Year for the U12 category. The achievement encapsulated the spirit of the event, which focused on family and community.

The celebration was not just limited to accolades; it was a day filled with family fun and bonding. “At Transition Football, we are more than just a team; we are a massive family united by a common goal – to make better people for society,” added Lorenzani.
The players are also heading to Scotland soon to play in friendly matches. They received puffer jackets from sponsors Flight Centre, ensuring they stay warm as they compete against some of the best in the world. “We are thankful for the support of our sponsors, who help keep our players comfortable as they showcase their talent internationally.”
As the day concluded, the sense of community and achievement was palpable, setting a positive tone as the team looked ahead to new challenges and opportunities in the coming year.
