The Indaba Hotel became a canine paradise as it hosted the highly anticipated SUPA 7’s Pawscars, affectionately known as the: Oscars for Dogs. This prestigious event brought together the top breeds from across the country, each vying for the title of Best Dog of the Year.

Under the watchful eye of a foreign judge, whose identity remained concealed until the very last moment, the competition showcased the finest canine talent. Each of the seven groups represented different breeds, including working, herding, and utility dogs, culminating in a thrilling display of canine excellence.

The judging process focused on the dogs’ conformation to breed standards, serving as a blueprint for the ideal appearance and temperament. With categories for overall adult, veteran, and puppy winners, the event highlighted the diverse talents of canines aged 12 months and older.

To qualify for this esteemed show, dogs had to participate in over 15 shows throughout the year, earning points to secure their invitation. The event not only celebrated the bond between dogs and their handlers but also underscored the dedication involved in dog showing.
