Families unities at a Bring and Braai
Crawford International Fourways celebrated community spirit and family at the school's Bring and Braai event.

Crawford International Fourways recently brought the school community together for its annual Bring & Braai event, a cherished tradition that fosters connections among learners, parents, and teachers in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
This year’s gathering offered an opportunity for families to unwind, socialise, and enjoy recreational activities while learners engaged in lively play.
School Principal Shivani Sahadeo expressed her vision for the event, “The family braai was inspired by the need to strengthen relationships within the school community in a relaxed setting. It provided an opportunity for families, staff, and students to connect beyond the classroom, fostering a sense of belonging and engagement.”

The event featured a variety of vendors, providing delicious treats for those who opted out of braaiing, as well as fun snacks like ice cream and sweets for the younger attendees.
This year’s event saw a particularly generous sponsorship from BMW Fourways, which supplied jumping castles that ensured students enjoyed hours of entertainment while showcasing some of their latest models to the gathered families.
Adding to the festivities, Mom and Tots contributed to the excitement by offering face painting services for the children and sponsored one of the popular jumping castles, making the event even more memorable.

The atmosphere at this year’s family braai was the warmest and most lively in the last four years, with a turnout that exceeded expectations. “A standout moment was seeing families, students, and teachers interact informally whether through conversations, games, or even spontaneous dancing truly capturing the spirit of community,” Sahadeo added.
Looking ahead, Sahadeo emphasised the importance of the family braai as a regular fixture in the school calendar. “Its success highlights the need for more events like it throughout the year to further strengthen family-school connections and community engagement.”
Crawford International Fourways is already looking forward to next year’s celebration, promising an even bigger and better event for its beloved learners and families.
